  • FAIL... Here's my story... Found a 07 G35S online ad for this dealership for about $16K.. Called them to confirm car is available since it wasn't listed on their website - I'm located about 45 miles away... The person I talked to (LJ) confirmed that the car is available - even asking me the stock id# to confirm... Got there and LJ passed me off to another salesperson (AH)... However, the car I came for apparently is no longer available (FAIL #1) but they have a 07 G35 base traded in the night before that AH can show me - this car is being listed at $19K~ ... So I wasn't too happy about this to start with but decided to look at the car anyways since I was already there... Test drove the car and AH was trying to make small talk as I had told him I'm not happy that the other car was no longer available... After the test drive, I told AH that I'm really looking for a $16K car and not all interested in a $19K car... AH then said if I would be interested in the car if he can get it for $16K... I said I'll think about it - at this time I'm looking at G35S.... However, I did change my mind and said I'll take the car for $16K.... So he did his talk to the manager routine, made me wait and then came back that since the car had recently been traded in they need to know how much $$$ they need to put in before they can decide on my offer... At this time, I'm thinking they're trying to blow me off but was being civil to not piss me off because of the issue with the 1st car not being there... I said ok get back to me in a few days... (FAIL#2 - do not negotiate on car you can't sell yet)... So after a few days, he called and he said that they put in $3K worth to the car and that he wants me to go up to $19K --- BTW.. How convenient that that was what he said they were asking for it a few days before.. (FAIL#3 - Don't assume client can't put 1+1 together... ).. Anyways I told AH I'm not interested but contact me if he's got a $16K G35 for me.... Got a few missed calls from AH the past week then I finally took his call today... He said he wants to get me the car but I should make an offer - trying to get me to bid up.... I told him that he should offer me the lowest he can go but he insists I should make an offer that he can take to his manager.. I said I already did before... At this point, I've just about had it with these guys and asked AH to stop calling me... (FAIL#3 - Don't bug potential clients unless you can improve on the last offer).... Anyways, there are like a thousand other dealerships in the area... I'm sure I can find a much better one with a better deal.... Oh, if he calls me again.. I'm posting this same review on the other car forums I go to... Good Job Scottsdale Infiniti....
