If you have kids you'd probably really like this neighborhood, they have a lot to offer. My biggest issues were with the HOA.
They nitpick to the extent of not having enough bushes/trees in the front yard...at one point they'd send letters stating they'd charge $20 per day if it was not corrected.
I had to remove a tree the HOA planted and forced upon it's residences of planting, the city made me remove it and the HOA wanted nothing to do with it, $600 down the drain.
When I went to paint my house which I thought they'd appreciate, they made a big deal I needed clearance to proceed, when I told them I was painting the house the same color as a house down the street.
When I filed a complaint about a neighbor and showed them photos, they never responded back to me via phone call or e-mail. I later found out they spoke with the neighbor and found him in the right.
The community grounds picks and chooses what area's they want kept up more so then other's, some grass areas are horrible filled with weeds and dead spots.
It was said no low subsidized apartments would be built in Power Ranch by the land owner, but they were...I believe it went as far as gating our area or at least building a wall around the complex, nothing ever came from it.
