| - I've lived in Domain for two years now. My first year was in a large one bedroom. This year my second, is a large two bedroom. Although they are both very nice in appearance the craftsmanship was pitiful. Finishing nails were sticking out of my cabinets and the granite countertops had to be sealed again within the first month. The first time I did laundry my apartment flooded because they hadn't used a long enough drain pipe for the washer and it had fallen out before I moved in. I resigned my lease early, then later switched to a two bedroom which was very nice of the management to allow me to do.
At first I was really excited to live in Domain. But there's things that this building doesn't have that many other apartments do in the area for the same price. For example, an ice machine in your fridge or even the building. A pool that gets sun after 2 pm as ours doesn't, when many other buildings in the area have rooftop pools and hot tubs! Better ratios! My roommate isn't able to have a parking spot because we're only allowed one per apartment even though it's a two bedroom apartment. The city also doesn't allow anyone at our address to get a city street permit so sorry if you thought that was an easy alternative! And better ratios on grills. There's hundreds of apartments in this building and the pool/grill area is extremely small. With only two grills your lucky when you can get a spot, otherwise on the nice days people always have large groups which really sucks because you'll never get space on the grill. The gym is also far less than amazing. Personally I prefer a diversity of equipment, a stair climber, treadmill, leg press, thing that are basic but instead the gyms over stuffed with treadmills and low quality equipment. Careful, the first time they demonstrated the wall mounted work out system it came out of the wall. Fire alarm goes off all the time. Bi-monthly on accident. You never know if it's real or not.
Lastly, since September a loud rattle has been coming from our master bedroom ceiling. Some nights I sleep through it others, I don't. They've attempted to fix it several times. The maintenance guys are great thankfully! Matts super nice and funny. But the construction company that comes to fix it when they can't isn't as great. They've gotten plaster dust all over our master bedroom, dressers, clothing, and artwork without covering a thing. Tomorrow I'll go in for the 20th time to ask them to fix it again. Knowing they won't get to it for a week, they'll cut yet a third hole in our ceiling, tell us to watch it for a week, see if we can figure out what it is that's causing the noise and report back. Let me tell you, an open ceiling for a week is SUPER creepy! Especially when you wake up to noise coming from it. Plus I'm usually a very heavy sleeper but this sound can go on super squeaky for an hour or even longer.
Honestly, I'm blessed to afford a place such as Domain. But if you're looking in this price range look elsewhere. It's not worth it, I'm sorry to say.... Even if the management tries it's just too many problems to be realistic or worth it.
