I have had four items since I've been in Pittsburgh this time around.
My other half and I got some rolls to eat with smoked salmon. We ate on the bench across the street and induced carb comas. Yum. They were fluffy.
Next I had a craving for a cookie but was homebound at the time. My sister mentioned a variety of Asian bakeries, macarons, and a mediocre chain coffee shop I said, no offense, but I want an American cookie, and I want a good one. She found the cookie my heart (and stomach) desired at Allegro. It had chocolate and lots of nuts and probably whole wheat in it. It was amazing.
I have also gotten a challah here. It was a 4 star challah because it is way better than the grocery store but it is not the best I've had, or even the best in town. But it's the best in the neighborhood.
