| - I have eaten at Alma several times, and have had great meals.....I especially love the fish dishes. I have been anxious to bring friends of mine to the restaurant for quite some time. I called on Monday Feb 11 to make reservations dinner on Friday the 16th (Valentine's weekend). I specifically asked if the regular menu would be served or a fixed menu...and was told both options would be available. I am not a fan of fixed menus, and wanted my friends to enjoy all that Alma has to offer. We arrived at the restaurant, had fantastic cocktails at the bar, and were seated for a 7:30 reservation. . We were handed the fixed menu. When I asked the host where the regular menu was, I was informed that only the fixed menu would be served. I explained my conversation about the menu when making reservations and was told to talk to my server. I explained the situation to the server, who smirked at me the entire time, and stated that they had just "Changed their mind!". When I asked to speak to a manager, she informed me curtly that she was it, and there was no one else to speak with.
As is always the case with fixed menus, the choices were few...not one fish dish was available, and the food was mediocre at best.
What a disappointing evening. The entire situation was handled poorly. The server was curt and could not have cared less. Your customer service is horrible.
Why didn't you let folks know of this change when you called to confirm reservations?
This experience certainly will not bring me back to Alma any time soon.
