I agree with the previous two reviewers. Capsule Music is one the best independent guitar stores in Ontario. They are dealers for several lines (Vox and Reverend Guitars for example) though most of their stock is made up of consignment pieces. I have purchased and sold several items with them over the years.
Back in the day the owners (brothers Peter & Mark) were always on hand to help you. They always made you feel important and welcomed your questions. It was the sort of shop where you could be educated as opposed to leave feeling stupid. Unfortunately they've taken to working behind the scenes these days. Now I find the service is a bit of a mixed bag really.
A couple of the newer cadets are pretty good and the service department are exceptional, very friendly and helpful. There is another guy who has been there for years, (John maybe?). He's very knowledgeable and really knows his stuff though he is prone to being a little condescending.
There is one bad apple ruining the bunch for me though. Many of my guitar playing friends and co-workers agree. If we see him behind the counter in his trucker hat we leave immediately and come back another day. He's rude, condescending and far more interested in Twitter than giving you any solid service.
The vibe has changed so much at Capsule Music that I'm only giving them 3 out of 5. A few years ago I would have easily given them 5 stars.
I would highly recommend you visit the shop. There are always interesting pieces to check out. I continue to frequent Capsule myself, but to be honest I now have reservations about putting things up for sale there on consignment.
Perhaps Mark and Peter set the bar to high, and their absence has me selling elsewhere.
