Apparently Matcha Latte has not caught on in Charlotte yet, as I had only found it in the very hip Not Just Coffee in my three-month hunt before today. I asked about it in another coffee shop and their attempt to make one did not succeed.
I didn't see green tea or matcha latte on the board in Waterbean but when I asked nicely, the answer was yes! Though my latte may not be the best Matcha Latte I have ever had, it hit the spot.
There were 4-5 flavors of macarons in the pastry case @ $2.20 each (more expensive than Chicagoland). I asked if they were made in store and the answer was again yes, so I had to try one. Believe it or not, it was better than the one I had at that highly rated French bakery in town.
Banh Mi, the Vietnamese sandwich must be trending in Charlotte as Waterbean features it on the menu board. Hopefully I will read about it in another yelper's review.
I like how airy and spacious this place is and the employees are very friendly. There is a piano in the shop!
The location can be a little hard to find, especially WITH the help of GPS. It's behind the Exxon Mobil station off Sam Furr, next to a Verizon store.
