| - If those who don't like to read long reviews here's the summary you should read before going to specs:
Specs: unprofessional dishonest optical store, they hide information from customers and charge stupid fees, they lie to you just to make a sale.
Go to College Optical instead: 30 years in business, perry and sheldon are both honest guys who provide you with quality and exceptional service whether you buy glasses or not. These guys don't just run an optical store. They make a difference in the world everyday by helping children whom are born with or get eye diseases, gain their vision back either with their specialized custom contacts.
They have several locations, I went to the college st and August avenue location by Kensington.
Here's my detailed review:
This is an unprofessional sleazy dishonest optical store. They lie to their customers, don't trust this place.
My boyfriend would have purchased a pair of their glasses however, as a consumer you would like to compare at different places before making a purchase.
There are a few things as a consumer you should know, there are 3 different numbers on the glasses, serial number, style number which is on their white sticker and the original style number of the glasses itself.
Specs PURPOSELY HIDES the style number so that you can't get the exact pair of glasses elsewhere. They are shady since they put their own store's style number sticker RIGHT ON the original style of the glasses, which is important if you want to look for glasses elsewhere that might carry them or for other optical places to order them for you, and in many cases other optical stores can order them for you and will probably be cheaper.
I called them 3 times asking for them to tell me the ORIGINAL style number and they played DUMB on the phone saying that their style number is the legitimate number. And they said they "busy" with customers, after the call I went to the store and NO ONE WAS in the store, I highly doubt they were busy when I called.
Anyways for anyone reading this I HIGHLY recommend going to College Optical located at college st and August avenue, by Kensington. College optical has been in business for 30 years, Perry and Sheldon are honest, genuine guys who will provide you with the best service and who are fully honest to customers. They do more than just run an optical store but they make a difference in the world by helping kids with eye diseases by restoring their vision with custom contacts for them to see again.
