I've visited Johnny Delmonicos many times in the past couple of years. I'ved watched their menu evolve to what is today and always note improvement. No, its not a primehouse like Rare, but they serve a solid Angus beef steak.
In the past years, the steaks have always been spot on. Additions have been made like the bone-in tenderloin. While other places on the square do offer dry aged beef (somewhere around a 30 day dry age), I have noticed that Johnnys dry age steak has a lot more of the characteristic flavor (who also claims about a 30 day dry age).
Whenever I goto Johnnys with my girlfriend, she will get a non-beef option. This is probably where I have noticed the most improvement. So many great fish, chicken, pork, and lamb options that are perfectly cooked and uniquely spiced. These options have changed over time and continue to improve.
The sides are simple. A variety of potatoes and vegetable options. Cooked perfectly and given what is expected every time.
Service is always stellar. We always get the same waitress because she always does a outstanding job taking care of us.
