| - I went to the shop on Saturday afternoon to get a fill. The guy convinced me to get a full set since one of my nails had fallen off. I agreed.
I asked for a glass of water since it was 98 degrees outside, and they had to ask the "owner" who joked with me that it would be $5.00 for one of those kids sized water bottles.
The job started good. There was only one other customer in the shop and he was taking his time. Soon the salon started filling up. People were waiting to get their nails done. He was filing my nails down and dropped the drill on my cell phone. Which was on the desk near my elbows (and the water bottle). I picked up my phone and there was a notch in the screen where the drill landed, and two cracks leading to this new hole in my iphone screen.
As soon as it happened, I showed the male nail tech (second one on the right when you walk in) and he said, "Oh no." When I showed him that he cracked my screen.
It was awkward. He rushed through completing my nails. And then asked me if I wanted gel. I told him, "No, clear coat is fine." He said, "I'll do it for free."
Then he tells me he's done with my nails and takes out his receipt book. I asked him, "So what are we going to do about my phone that you broke?" He said, "It was an accident." I said, "Yes, I realize that. But now I have to pay $100 to get my screen fixed." So he offered my nails at half price. I laughed an said, you need to pay me to fix my phone that you broke. To which he again said it was an accident. Then we both started getting louder and the rest of the people in the shop and the people that work there started to hear.
All of a sudden, he tells me, "How do I know it wasn't broken when you came in?" To which I replied, "You admitted that you did it, and you apologized and said it was an accident. Now you're saying that it was broken when I came in."
Long story short, he refused to pay for my phone repair, and when I asked to speak with an owner, all of a sudden "We don't have an owner." Which is bull crap, and I called him a liar. I told them it was "F'ing bull sh*t." that he would lie about the responsibility.
To which he replied, "F*ck You, get out." I told him that he'll be hearing from my lawyer.
Also, he rushed through my nails and made them too long, and left them messy underneath. I told him, "Maybe if you weren't rushing through my nails, you wouldn't have dropped the drill on my phone."
I'll never go back to this shop, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Do the right thing when you break someone else's property.
