Long ago and far away I lived in San Francisco wherein lies the delicious Lemongrass on Polk Street (near Union Street). How I have I missed that temple of Thai cuisine.
Fast forward to 2016 and I have found Lemongrass' doppelgänger, Sala Thai. These cats cook authentic Thai; i.e., peanut sauce, a staple for the American-gringo palette, was nowhere to be found on ST's extensive menu.
Everything was delicious. BBQ spareribs are bite-size and will be a new favorite. Their Thai Iced Tea is a new addiction (Waiter! IV of Thai Iced Tea! STAT! I'm Jonesing! was my cry of the repast.). Pumpkin Curry was a great veggie accompaniment for the ribs. Fresh Spring Rolls were packed with fresh leafyness of lettuce, cilantro, carrot and delicate rice paper. Lettuce Wraps were terrific. Potstickers were moist, pan-crisped on the bottom.
