I brought a colleague here to introduce her to Ethiopian food. I'd never been, but I'd heard good things and decided to see for myself.
The good: Well, the food! We split a sampler and ordered 2 veggie dishes as well as 3 meat dishes. I found them all to be well seasoned, especially the lamb and the collard greens. It absolutely does not come out piping hot, but you do eat it with your hands so that'd probably be dangerous. The server was also kind and did his best to be helpful. The restaurant was also clean and I liked the variety of Ethiopian beers and wines.
The no-so-good: The service isn't as attentive as you'd find at most similarly priced restaurants. I do think it may be a cultural difference, but as I said, the staff is very nice. You will probably have to flag them down for drink refills, but they are quick to help once you've gotten their attention. I also didn't enjoy that the beer was barely cool, but that is definitely cultural (most other countries don't believe in ice cold drinks like we do).
Its a great spot to bring your vegetarian and vegan friends to, as they can order their own food that will be equally flavorful and tasty. I'll be back.
