I have a furry 115 lbs dog and taking him to the groomers is typically $60+. I came here to Poochy Klean and it was a very simple process to bathe him myself. Everything you need is provided for you within reach: shampoo, conditioner, brushes, blowdryer, towels, etc. The water is the perfect setting of warm. The sprayer for the bathtub is a great strong pressure to remove all the excess hair my dog sheds.
Downside:
- Shampoo is extremely watered down. I don't even know what scent the shampoo was because it was so diluted. So bring your own shampoo.
- Blowdryer only blows only cold air! After my dog gets bathed he's soaking wet....blowing COLD air is going to make him freezing! Same as it would if we got out of the shower and then walked into the cold wind. I skipped the blowdryer, because I care about my dog's comfort, and just brushed him after his bath. My dog smelled like wet dog after our visit because of the water shampoo and air-dry.
- Brushes are a bit bent and overused. I can understand though, they probably have at least 20 guests a day using the brushes and tools.
They also have doggie cologne and perfume (pretty strong scents). Not to my liking. The concept of self dog washes is awesome. All of this was just a flat rate of $16 for me (because I have a larger dog). I don't want to buy a bottle of their shampoo but would honestly pay a little more if they included non-diluted shampoo and a heated blowdryer. But I get it, from a business perspective, people/kids will just cover their dog with good shampoo and it just ends up being more wasteful.
I'd come back but more prepared.
