A lot of hype has been attached to the new restaurants opening up Downtown, but to be honest a lot of it is just that: hype. It's hard for me to get excited about paying $20 for a $10 meal I could get at a Station Casino, just because it's being served on a fancier plate in a snootier setting. Fortunately, Rock'N'oodles bucks this trend by offering great food, generous portions and reasonable prices in a fun atmosphere.
Everything I've tried here has been amazing: from the Sweet Home Alabama (smoked gouda mac n cheese with buttermilk-fried popcorn chicken, bacon and homemade BBQ sauce) to the Asian wings and pork tacos. Everything is made fresh, and the portions are definitely Pulsar-sized. The house-made cream puffs are crazy addictive.
R'N'N isn't just my new favorite Downtown restaurant. It's my new favorite restaurant, period.
