| - The first time I went to this place, it was because they were advertising $20 piercings. I decided to walk in and check it out. The line was out the door, and the shop is very small, so we were packed tight in there. I wanted to get my belly button pierced, but I didn't have ID with me so they turned me away. The woman working at the reception was extremely rude, but this was about 2 years ago, so they might have let her go since then.
I was reluctant to go back, A, because of the reception woman's rudeness, and B, because the shop looked sketchy and dirty. It certainly has that chinatown feel to it, making me wonder if the place was licensed/safe.
Anyways, I did end up going back on a Saturday in August about a year ago to get my nose pierced. This time there was no line, and I was moved into the piercing room quickly. It is a small, dimly lit room. Despite the look of the place, my piercing artist was very kind and professional. She took her time with the piercing, taking into consideration exactly where I wanted it placed. We decided on the perfect point together, and she quickly, painlessly pierced it, putting the jewelry right in. I didn't feel a thing.
All together, it came out to around $30 with tax and tip.
They also have cheap piercing jewelry for sale. I got a captive bead ring for $5... much cheaper than anywhere else I've been to.
Overall, I had a good experience the second time. I think the trick is to go when it isn't busy, that way they will take their time with you. Also, I never had trouble with my nose ring, so I am satisfied.
