| - I loved living here at first. It's a great location, has awesome amenities, etc. There were a few nit-picky things that I could easily get over such as short and shallow shelves in the kitchen cabinets (normal sized kitchen storage items do not fit), the curved sink so that everything falls over, and the very inefficient apartment layouts.
And while maintenance is normally very prompt, I still do not understand why they still have not fixed the grill by the pool yet saw fit to buy all new seating in the pool tv lounge area (side note: I sat on the new ones and they are not comfortable). Also, any time I go into the office to talk to someone, they aren't exactly helpful or truly nice. (disclaimer: yes, they portray themselves as very nice and smile a lot. But it's definitely fake nice. I grew up in the south where one quickly learns how to distinguish between real and fake nice)
Here are the things that are quickly becoming deal breakers:
-No packages accepted. I know, I know. Y'all sent out tons of messages before that service stopped explaining why. However, it is a HUGE inconvenience and I have not noticed any improvement/change in service by the office staff (in a reply to another review the office stated that the decision to stop packages included allowing them more time to focus on providing better service to the residents rather than have that process take up their time. IMO, that sounds like a generic BS response)
-Expect your rent to skyrocket when it's time to renew. I was recently informed that to renew at the end of December, I needed to accept a $100+ increase in monthly rent and sign now or sign after 2 weeks from now and accept a $200+ increase in monthly rent. Out of curiosity, I went online and looked up what it would cost to move in to the same exact floor plan on the same floor on the day the lease is up. Guess what, the monthly price given was $230 LESS per month than I pay now! Now, I'm not about to go demand that my rent get lowered to that price, but I don't understand the need to increase my rent so much. Wouldn't it make more since to try to keep a good relation with the current residents, especially the ones who pay rent on time and such?! I've tried to bring this up to the office on more than one occasion, but when it's an issue like this, I suddenly seem to have a hard time getting anyone to respond. Funny. It doesn't matter how many "Customer Appreciation" days y'all have., Making it expensive/hard to continue living here shows zero customer appreciation.
All in all, I like the other residents I've met, I like the pool/gym/activity center/etc, I love the location....if they wouldn't jump the rent up at renewal, I'd stay and probably recommend this place to other people. However, the rent issue is just the final cherry on top of the packages issue and all of the other little things. So I will most likely be moving out when my lease ends and when asked for apartment recommendations, I will deter people from Camden
