I've been doing my silver buying online. Everyone tells me to buy local if I can so today I went on a search and visited 2 dealers. I first went to C&C. I walked in one staff person was chatting with a customer. The other was in back part doing something so I waited. After a few minutes he asked me if I needed help and I asked him about a coin I had gotten in change and asked if he could grade and tell me what it was worth. He handed it to the other staff person talking to the other customer who looked at it and said it's in very good condition but that the coin had been cleaned so that devalued the coin and handed it back to the person waiting on me who handed it back to me..end conversation. I still don't know what the coin is worth.
The person waiting on me asked the other one about some mail packages let unopened and proceeded to open one and discuss the contents with the other. I asked about Silver Eagles, bought a few. He took my cash handed me the Eagles in a tube and went back to opening the packages. I started looking the case in front of me, he never came back so I proceeded to leave. I think I heard someone say "thanks for stopping in" or some such as the door closed on my out. The other shop I stopped at was a similar experience. I'll post a review later on that one.
I mostly wasted my time and gas today. I'm going to try elsewhere to check on the coin I have and I'm going back Online to buy silver. It's a couple buck an ounce cheaper with free shipping and I'll save my time and gas driving around town. I like buying local but not like this. Lesson learned.
