| - I'll start off by saying that I'm not a Gordon Ramsey fan. Never watched Hell's Kitchen, or anything. But the memes I find on the internet about him are hilarious!
Hubby had been wanting to check this place out for the past year, so during our last trip to Vegas over LDW, I thought what the heck, let's try it out.
We waited in line for about about 20 minutes, when one of the hostess asked us if we wanted to sit at the chefs table. I didn't really want to stand in line anymore since I was starving, so we took it. I'll admit, they made it sound like a cooler experience when they were telling us about the chefs table, so I was a little disappointed when it was just a bar counter. Fine, I'll let this pass, my expectations were a little too high.
This is where things went pretty sour. First, it took about 15 minutes for a server to say anything to us, another 15 minutes to get our drinks, and about 45 minutes to get our food. Considering that i was starving, I was in a pretty hangry mood. I couldn't believe how slow this place was. I'll give it to the cooks, they were moving pretty fast at times, but other times, they were just standing around waiting for the food to cook. I noticed that the burgers would all come at one time, about 5 or so, and then the cooks would just be standing waiting for more food to cook. It's like they would cook the food in shifts, rather than being constant. Why not just consistently be cooking, rather than putting everything together, then waiting for the food to be ready together?
Now about the food:
I had the Tendori Chicken, lettuce wrapped. All I asked for was the chicken, and cheese wrapped in lettuce. Not too complicated right? Well, the chicken has some kind of sauce that took away the goodness of it. But since I was starving, I just let it go and ate it. But I wasn't a fan of this sauce. When I asked the server what this sauce was, she didn't know, and had to ask a chef, who looked liked he didn't know either, and then just settled it with being "marinade". Umm no, this was not cooked with the chicken. This was tossed on top of the chicken. There is a difference.
Hubby had the Backyard burger, no complaints from him. He thought it was ok. High quality ingredients, but not really worth the price tag.
We decided to share an order of sweet potato fries, which are huge btw! We both weren't a fan of the powdered sugar they added. I don't get powdered sugar on fries. Whats the point of it?
Overall, I don't think I will come back. There are better burger places around Vegas. At least I got hubby off my back with trying this place out!
