| - My husband and I love Todd's. This restaurant is small and intimate (make a reservation!) and serves wonderfully diverse, delicious food. Our last visit was 12/20/14, which happened to be the 23rd anniversary of when my hubby and I met. Not a significant anniversary to anyone else--certainly most people celebrate a wedding anniversary more often than a "day we met" one--but we happened to be talking about it and the waitress overheard. At the end of the wonderful meal, she served us a lovely little complementary "Happy Anniversary" tiramisu dessert. A total surprise to both of us and the kind of thing that brings customers back.
But I digress...the meal itself was *delicious*. We started with a house salad--highly recommended mixed vegetables with the most wonderful hibiscus-garlic dressing (we joked about getting a bowl of dressing as a soup!) After that, my husband had the sea bass with a tomatoey risotto, and it was just out of this world. Having a weakness for comfort food, especially this time of year, I ordered the meat loaf--and was swoonily comforted! What a wonderful meat loaf this was, seasoned just right, served with a creamy swirl of mashed potatoes and yummy gravy and caramalized onions. Did I mention, this portion would make TWO meals??? Really, I boxed it up at the end and had it the next day because yummm.
We ordered a Bananas Foster for dessert (not knowing we were getting the aforementioned tiramisu!) and it was delicious. The only thing I might wonder about--not really complain, just wonder--is that, isn't Bananas Foster usually served flaming? Ours was not. But it was wonderful anyway.
I would go back to Todd's anytime. The food is wonderful, the service accommodating and kind.
Highly recommended, five stars.
