| - First, atmosphere is pretty awesome. Plenty of tvs, good music, and a wrap around outdoor eating area. 5 stars for the atmosphere...no question. Also located in downtown Chandler so right in the mix of the other nightlife.
Second, the beer. It's really good with good seasonal selections. Well known to most in the east valley.
Ok...the food. This will be the primary basis for the review since this was our primary reason for visiting. We started with the Slingers...awesome! Deep-fried cream cheese jalapeƱo goodness. Off to a good start. As fas as meals. My wife had the San Antonio Mac N Cheese. Homestyle mac with smoked brisket and cornbread crust. Sounds pretty amazing. It was good but the brisket was fatty her serving. HUGE portion. I had the Ricky Ricardo cuban sandwich. Their variation of a cuban served up in a flatbread. Good but greasy. Not the best ever but not horrible. My biggest gripe was my daughter's grilled cheese. Ok, so she isn't the most indiscriminate eater...but a grilled cheese is a safe bet, right?? Wrong. It came out and looked like a bunch of cheese melted on a pizza crust and folded in two (see photo). Daughter wouldn't touch it. I don't blame her. They do have quite a few options for the youngsters...hopefully the others are better.
Lastly, service. Overall it was good but the time from order to receiving our meal was abnormally long. Additionally, when the waitress saw that my daughter did not touch her meal, she didn't ask if anything was wrong. Not that we wanted them to take it back, but I think a good waiter/waitress would have asked.
I am torn on this review. The location, atmosphere, beer, and apps are very good. The main course was average. Daughter's below average.
I am going to go with a solid 3 and will revisit in hopes that I can be convinced to up it to 4. Stay tuned...
