I purchased/scheduled a flight for my wife as a Chistmas present. Got a call today the aircraft was in for "annual maintenance." The aircraft is no longer available for the day I previously scheduled. I made the reservation over a month ago on the phone with a representative from the organization. Neither the person on the phone or their website indicated any unavailability due to annual or scheduled maintenance on the day and time I had scheduled for my wife.
I guess when they enter into a contract for a service it is more of a maybe than a sure thing. The reason I am so upset is that my wife is a cancer survivor and a flight like this is on her bucket list. I will get her a flight. I will just find a company that is better organized and competent when it comes to providing the service agreed upon and paid for. I told my wife about her "almost flight" she thanked me and told me she looks foward to another opportunity to get in the air. She just cautioned me to seek a reputable company the next time I look.
