I came to watch some stand-up comedy....but what was comedic was the venue itself. I decided to try something new and go for a comedy show on a weekend evening. Purchased my tickets online months in advance for a show that I was pretty excited to see. A few days before the event, I went on Yelp to see what my fellow Yelpers thought of this venue and now I understand why this place has such low ratings.
The biggest issue I had was with the two-item minimum. As a newbie, I didn't know this was a common thing for comedy clubs, so I was blindsided by this additional $20 expense for food/drinks that I was not going to order in the first place. Nowhere on the ticket did I see this, not even in the small print. Oh, and it's not 2 items per group, it's 2 per person. You got to be kidding me....
By the time we got there, there was a fairly long line in front of the door. Doors open about 2.5 hours before the show. Someone comes out and shouts at the crowd to split the line into two - regular and VIP. The whole process was very unorganized. A group of us ended up in the wrong line so we got booted allllll the way to the back. I was already ready to leave at this point.
Once we got in, they started packing us all in there like sardines. They lined up extra rows of chairs to stuff as many people in the room as possible. They would've piled someone on my lap if they could. We ended up getting a crummy seat with no table. Oh and remember that two-item limit? We ended up eating overpriced nachos and fries on our laps. Really? You couldn't at least given me something to put the heavy plates on after forcing me to buy it?
The biggest joke is this venue. Absolutely not worth the money.
