  • This was my first time at Las Velas (recommended by a friend) and for the most part I enjoyed it! Pros: SUPER cute atmosphere, I wish I got a picture, but I'll let you go see it for yourself! :P The prices were great, even non-happy hour prices. Although the beers included in Happy Hour aren't the greatest, $3 for 16oz ($1 off), I'll take it! The apps were $2 off I believe. (Keep in mind, their happy hour alters per day, so these were Friday prices.) My group had the nachos and they were actual VERY good! They were freshly made nachos (still warm when they came out) and the salsa might've been house-made? It was very authentic! Cons: It was very warm in the venue! We went on a warmer day and I don't think they had any air conditioning - it probably doesn't help that they're on the second floor of a building though. The staff was a little difficult to understand, but that wasn't a huge deal to me. Overall, I probably would return to Las Velas since my friend swears by their tacos! Maybe it won't be as warm during the colder months. No deal breakers though!
