| - wow. I wasn't going to review them.. but with all these negative reviews I figure I should chime in.
2 girlfriends and I went to Spirithouse for cocktails when they first opened. We had a good time. Its comfortable, well designed and everyone was friendly. Our waitress was a little scattered, but I chalked that up to the fact that they had just opened. The owner, and a (client services?) guy both came over to welcome us. No one said anything offensive.
We had about 2 cocktails each as well. The two I ordered were really good. The ceaser sangria I could live without.
london clocktower
premium gin, blackberry puree, rooibos tea, fresh pressed lemon, grapefruit bitters $12
and
hemingway special
havana rum, maraschino, fresh pressed lime and grapefruit, gomme syrup $12
which was so ridiculous I took a photo of the menu to remember what it was. YUMM.
The cocktails are expensive, but you are on KING WEST. At least Toronto is not Manhatten.. be thankful peeps.
I don't get all the hate really. This is not a place I would go every Friday night, but its good for some sitdown cocktails. They were accommodating enough to make my girlfriend some custom drinks without syrups.
Bonus Points
The Bar tenders all wear these cute little vest gettups. Nice touch
Minus Points
The food is far too expensive with too small portions. We had the famous duck poutine and it was disappointing. We saw no evidence of pulled duck meat and it was about 4 bites in size.
