  • I really want to give AAA a better update review, but unfortunately, it just isn't going to happen. As I previously stated, I have been trying to book my honeymoon trip to Whistler, BC and was hoping to do so with the help of AAA. When my first attempt to go in and meet with a travel agent failed miserably, I was contacted on Yelp by Denise L. I have to give props to a company who goes out of their way to fix a situation. Denise L. took the time to write me a public owner comment and a private message asking me to contact her (or her coworker, Emily H.) regarding my negative experience. That is always nice. Because I love having AAA, my family has always had great experiences, and I just really needed some help planning this honeymoon of ours I decided to go ahead and call them. Emily H. was incredibly helpful over the phone. She, herself, was not able to plan a trip for me, but she asked me every question in the book in hopes of finding a travel agent who could get the job done. Emily asked what kind of room we wanted, where we wanted to stay in town, how much money we wanted to spend, gave helpful info regarding flights and transportation, etc. etc. etc. She was really great and for that I have added one star to my original review. Unfortunately, I never really got the help I was looking for after that. The travel agent who was assigned to my trip requests did her job, but it was not what I was hoping for. She called when I was told she would which was appreciated. But the info she provided me with over the phone was lacking any helpful detail and once again I was given flight prices that were much higher than what I could find on my own. Weird. I asked her to email me some of the accommodations that she had found so I could see pictures and prices. I received an email not too long after that, but it provided very little information and no links or photos. I'm sorry, but I am not willing to book a hotel if I have not even seen what the place looks like. She provided me with two accommodation options, both of which I could have easily found on my own. What's the point in having AAA book your trip if you can find the same options yourself? After this final phone call and email I am left wondering if maybe I expected too much from AAA's travel department. In this day and age it is probably easier to use the internet and do the research yourself. I certainly found better deals on my own and it saved me the hassle of trying to continue to communicate with different travel agents. Sorry AAA, I love you, but your travel services are not for me.
