  • When I found a home on Zillow that interested me, I put in my contact information, and Jessica reached out to me right away, which impressed me greatly. She said the home was not yet ready for viewing, but gave me a date when it would be ready. When the date started to approach, I emailed her to let her know I was still interested, but received no response. I tried again a few days later, and she responded saying the viewing date had been moved back. When the new date approached, I again emailed her to confirm a date/time, but it took another two emails during that same week before she responded. I finally was able to confirm a time/date to look at the house. When I showed up, she was still showing the house to a potential renter and so I had to wait. I found this a bit insulting because I had confirmed my time, but now I had to wait for her to wrap things up with this other person while my confirmed time started to dwindle. She finally got around to showing me the house, and I was very impressed with it. I asked her if I could go ahead and fill out an application, which she provided. As I was filling out the application, another potential renter came in during the time I had scheduled to be there, and Jessica moved to start working with this new arrival. Again, I felt slighted because this was my confirmed time. It would have been nice if she had told me there was going to be overlap of renters coming in to look at the property, but she never mentioned that. The hour that I was scheduled to be there to view the house was diminished by at least 30 minutes. Regardless, I finished filling out the application and asked her if I could go ahead and pay the application fee as well. She said no problem, but told me she didn't have a receipt book. I said she could merely send me an email confirmation. I paid the fee and left. The next day I emailed her additional information that needed to be added to the application that I didn't readily have when I was filling out the paperwork. She never acknowledged my email, and never sent me a confirmation of payment of the application fee. I was in a bind to find a new rental property because the owner of my current rental property decided to sell and did not renew my lease. I had less than three weeks left to find a new place, and was hoping the house that Jessica showed me would be the one. I have an excellent credit rating, great references, and my salary more than met the minimum monthly income requirements. Since I was the first to submit my application, I was hoping the owner would make a decision quickly. I emailed her about my application status and heard nothing. I emailed her again a few days later because I was running out of time to acquire a new rental property and let her know about this, and again, heard nothing. I called and left a message and email again after few more days and again, heard nothing back. I finally contacted another agent and within three days that person had helped me to find a place. The new agent worked late hours and even on weekends to show me a few places, and never gave up until she found me something. Jessica's inability or unwillingness to communicate simple information is unacceptable. If she had merely given me a "Sorry, the owner made a selection and it wasn't you," I would have understood and quickly moved on. I don't understand this completely unprofessional behavior. She probably pocketed my $75 application fee and used it for a steak dinner. Why would you not take twenty seconds to email a simple confirmation? Why would you not return a call or an email to let a potential renter know a status? My communications were spread out over many days, as I realize people get busy and may forget. I was not constantly bothering her, but simply needed a yes or no on my application. Jessica demonstrated completely unprofessional behavior, and I would warn everyone to stay away from her, especially if you're the type of person who expects an answer when you need a question answered. Jessica Stocker is DEFINITELY not that kind of businesswoman.
