Quickly looked for mani/pedi options on Groupon before vacation and learned my lesson to always do my research.
What was advertised as a "Spa Mani/Pedi" turned out to be almost nothing more than getting my nails and toenails painted which I could have done on my own.
My feet got to soak in a tub of hot water for no more than 13 seconds before one was pulled out and she went to work. I'm a runner, and recently trained for and ran a half marathon, so my feet aren't in the best of shape...she exfoliated the top to remove dead skin for maybe 20 seconds (when they needed quite a bit more work) and never even touched my heels. I had to ask twice that she fix my big toe nail and clean up the edges because there was paint on my skin (it was bright purple so it was hard to miss!) There was absolutely nothing spa-like about the pedicure; I assumed there would be thorough exfoliating, some massaging, etc. but this wasn't the case.
My manicure was fine - same thing, just nail painting. I upgraded to get Shellac polish so it took a little longer but there wasn't any massaging of my hands, I don't even think she did anything with my cuticles or any dead skin around my nail beds....it felt like they just wanted to get out of there...I was the only client there, and was reminded three times that I was the last client of the day.
So...I've learned my lesson - will always do a little research before booking an appointment, even if it is last minute and seems like a good deal. For what I ended up paying, and the services I received it wasn't worth it at all.
