Be prepared to WAIT. Set aside 2 hours. I continue to go there because when I was looking for an ophthalmologist, two different people who didn't even know each other immediately said "Dr. Emily Fant." So I started going to her years before she was associated with the Shepherd Eye Center.
Here's the story -- you check in, fill out the forms and wait about 20 minutes for the first tech to do an eye check. Wait another 20 minutes for a second tech to do a different check and dilate your eyes. Back to the waiting room for about 20 minutes and then taken into the room where "the doctor will be in shortly." 45 minutes later, Dr. Fant arrives, looks over the paperwork, does a check with bright lights, and tells you everything's fine (hopefully). That takes 3-5 minutes. You pay and are out of there in 2 hours.
Everyone is very nice and they are obviously organized, but I object to so much unnecessary waiting. This is typical for them. If I had not had such glowing reports about Dr. Fant I might look around for someplace more patient-friendly, but since this is only every year or so, I put up with it.
