It actually should be a 1.5* but it's Sunday so...I'll go ahead and round up. I suggested to my boyfriend to take me to this restaurant because of the good reviews and the pictures of the food and halo halo looked amazing.
So we get there about an hour before they closed on Saturday. No one was there except for us. It was set up like a Chinese fast food place where you go up and tell them what you want and they scoop it up for you. We ordered the 3 item meal which was $14. It came with rice and we ordered lechon kawali (roasted pig), paka [something, I forget the name] (pork stew) and pork adobo. The roasted pig was dry - it's probably because we came close to closing and the food was sitting under heat lamps all day. The pork stew was made from the pork hock - this was greasy and full of bone. The lady scooping this out for us scooped a lot of bone into our bowl. I wouldn't gripe if the bone was attached to meat.... this was straight bone that's fallen off the bone. The pork adobo was not bad but it was also greasy. If you're on a diet - you won't want to get most of their items.
We also ordered the halo halo especial - it wasn't that special. It was basic and boring in flavor. My boyfriend liked it but I didn't care for it.
This place was not particularly close to our home so we will more than likely not be coming back.
