I've been a frequent visitor to this place for quite some time but a recent experience really turned me away. Several days ago I made a reservation for my parents 30th wedding anniversary. I told them to put the bill on my credit card as the meal was a gift to them. i gave them all of my info, and a contact number incase there were any issues. A few hours after the meal I hadn't heard from my parents so I assumed BLT neglected to process the transaction correctly. I called the restaurant to verify it had been applied correctly and this is how the call went:
Me - Hi, I want to make sure the meal for my parents was properly charged to my credit card.
Them - Absolutely! I saw the notes this morning in the system. All set.
Me - You know this off the top of your head? Can you verify?
*two minute wait*
Them - Sorry, we accidentally charged them.
They offered to refund my parents and charge me. Just what I want...them to realize I gave them the meal as a gift a month from now when they get their credit card statement. Or I could tell them "The restaurant I really wanted you to try was to stupid to process the meal correctly so look for a refund on your CC statement." I'm not sure how a restaurant like this has such poor execution and service.
