| - Background on Egg Soup Supper Club: We are (for the most part) white, American, Chinese speakers. The majority of us are ASU students. We are all between the ages of 20 and 30 years old. We meet once a week at a different Chinese restaurant around the Tempe/Chandler area for Chinese food.

General thoughts: I love hot pot. And this one was no exception. The food was very delicious, and the soups for the pot were flavorful and awesome. We got the Yin Yang pot (half spicy and half original).
One of our favorite things that we had was the bok choy. It came out in a large portion, and cooked quickly, which made us all happy. We also loved the fish balls (or whatever you call them). They sound nasty, and the concept is nasty, but they taste totally awesome. The shabu shabu beef was pretty good, as was the chicken. The shrimp with head off were pretty good too, although not necessarily anything out of the ordinary.
We also got the Japanese style soft tofu, as well as the fried tofu. The soft tofu has always been my favorite in a hot pot, but everyone else in our group preferred the fried because it didn't fall apart.
The enoki mushrooms are awesome. They're the little white ones that come out in a big clump. We also got some shitake (spelling?) mushrooms with our second round of food that were rather excellent.
Granted, the spicy broth may not have been as spicy as some people expect from a ???, but to me it was just right: spicy enough to say "Hey, this is kind of spicy" but not spicy enough to say "MY TONGUE IS BURNING AND I CAN'T TASTE ANYTHING."
The service was kind of lacking, a lot. We had to ask for more water in a ewer (or vase, or whatever those things are called). Nevertheless, my cup spent 95% of the meal empty. Whenever we wanted anything, we had to catch the waitresses eye and signal her over. She was really nice, though. So I'll give her that.
