  • Insomnia really caught me off guard in a great way. One thing Charlotte really lacks on is late night eats, but insomnia is helping to remedy that in one of the most scarce genres: SWEETS. Pulled up last night at a cool 11am and they wern't even in their 'rush hour' yet (the server said they get real busy between 1-2am). I really wish I had gotten the server's name because she was awesome. You'd think that a cookie and ice cream place would be cut and dry but they have many options from traditional to monster cookies. Also a vibrant selection of ice cream dons the right side of the counter. She was extremely friendly and welcoming. I got the Monster Smores Cookie and a small birthday cake ice cream. Both were very sweet in their own complex ways and the cookie was soft, warm, and gooey in the middle (more marshmallow and caramel, not undercooked!). A little expensive if you take their concept at face value, but there's definitely something special about the place, I'll be back, maybe at 2:30am with all the college kids!
