  • First, I want to talk about the Banfield plan, then I want to talk about this specific location. We have had 2 pets on the Banfield plan, which is a very reasonable monthly cost. The best part is having free check ups so you can take your pet in for an appointment just to get something checked out and not have to pay a fee. You also get a lot of shots covered and a dental cleaning every year. There is a little downside for the Banfield plan - you need to make an appointment at least a week in advance. If your closest Banfield is booked, you can call the others to see if there is something earlier, which is a little hassle but not too big of a deal. There are also morning "drop off" appointments which are very handy if you can't make an open appointment time because of work. I don't live near this Banfield at the Tempe Marketplace, but I make the drive for Dr. Hansen and the lovely front desk staff. Our first dog became very ill quite suddenly, and that's when we saw Dr. Hansen for the first time. She was incredibly professional and caring. We were in a very upset state and she made us feel like everything possible was being done and that our dog was very important. Vets are extremely busy, and many times they seem to rush through an appointment, but never with Dr. Hansen. She listens closely to the owners. We now make the drive with our second dog, and request Dr. Hansen. Again, if you make an appointment a week in advance you can generally get the vet you want, although I have never had a bad experience with any of the vets at any of the Banfields. The front desk staff and the techs are another excellent element of this Banfield location. They are all incredibly friendly and professional, and work quickly and efficiently. It's funny to me how a lot of vet staff don't seem to care about your dog, but at this location the staff always come and pet the waiting dogs or talk to them. Also, all the Banfields I've been in are extremely clean - both the waiting area and the rooms.
