  • So here's the thing. Not really upscale, but you more than get what you're paying for. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. You even get a little attention to detail that some of the more expensive hotels don't do. Like tucking in the opening on pillow cases, making a flower out of the kleenexes and having the shower curtain put on correctly. The staff has all been friendly but I have a soft spot for Linda on night shift. My husband is currently working out of PHX and we are there up to 20 days a month. Originally we were booking with Bookit.com. NOT worth the money saved and you can't cancel. (Book it is a whole 'nother topic). The email doesn't work. The phone number doesn't work. The website link doesn't work. Thank god Linda found a way to cancel all of them for me and we booked directly with her. She is night shift and more than helpful, friendly, and thorough. Highly recommend calling between 0330 and 0430 to catch her before she starts getting busy again. I'm not sure if management always realizes it but 80% or displeasure comes from interactions with staff like this. Not that there is a problem with the facility, but I know me. And if the sweet girl on 1st shift, Alan on 2nd shift, or Linda on 3rd shift weren't so over the top helpful I may not be as willing to overlook the other stuff. With your stay comes a continental breakfast. Carla has become family. She has a much better variety than the typical simple carb breakfasts that are typically provided. She also doesn't prepare the same thing every day, which I appreciate. You will always have the staples; breads, rolls, muffins, waffle maker, yogurt, and fresh fruit. Some days she fixes eggs, chorizo, hash browns (chunk cut potatoes with oregano (I think), or omelets with some diced vegetables, sausage patty, sausage links. I'm sure I haven't done her justice. At the desk they have a small table set up with coffee, creamers and sugars. More importantly they have daily made chocolate chip cookies as at the desk that you can help yourself to. They do provide "shuttle" service. We were a little leery of this at first. They will call Uber for you. Because my husband is always on call and has to report within a short time frame we were concerned that they may not feel the same urgency. But this has worked out better than true shuttle services in most hotels. They will pick you up or drop you off from the airport 24/7. They will take you within 5 miles of the hotel until 11 pm. Not sure the am time it starts, never needed that side of it. The staff would never say anything to me about it, but I overheard the conversation with another customer and they lied about where they were going and had the Uber driver take them further. Then they wanted to argue about paying it. Why? This is a perk. Don't take advantage. There is so much to do within 5 miles. I suppose you could have them drop you off at the 5 mile point and walk the rest though, if you wanted to go further. They also have a laundry room down stairs. You will need quarters but you can get them from the desk. It has one dryer and one washer and a table for folding. I have never had to wait to use it. All of the rooms that we have been in have had a small fridge with a square freezer in the top right part of it that will hold a few items. Like your ice pack.
