| - Same exact deal as Bill, David, and Joey. This business seems to be running a hustle with the Groupon deal. They wanted to charge me an extra $30 simply for a darker shade in the same quality tint. I've never heard of anything so lame. They also wanted to charge another $100 to remove the tint from my BMW coupe.
I was having none of their nonsense and told them I would simply go elsewhere and get a refund from Groupon because they refused to honor the terms of the Groupon.
Then they threatened to tow my car if I didn't move it immediately. I was only dropping off the keys to the car that I had dropped off the night before, so I had two vehicles at their shop. How was I supposed to drive two vehicles home at the same time? I told her that I would be back later to pick up my car, but she was unwilling to let me leave it in the parking lot.
Wow!
Hindsight is 20/20. I should have come to Yelp before buying the Groupon. I also should have checked the Better Business Bureau to determine that they are have a D-rating. Not Good! My Bad!

The following is the response I received from the owner (David E) of the business shortly after I Ieft the above review:
"Why don't you delete this before I put the truth on here! I'm the husband and it is a good thing for you I was not there at the time when you verbally assaulted my wife you coward! It clearly states what is extra in the add! You have no right to slander us in a public forum after you were the one out of line and in the wrong and out of control! I have a call into my Lawyer so I suggest you remove the review. Pretty sure she felt threatened and the witnesses thought so too, so we will be calling the police too, You should be ashamed! You have 15 mins to remove the review and you should call and apoligize to my wife!"
This was my reply to David E:
Sorry David, but I am the only one who has been threatened and I will retain your email as proof. I left your business without a single cross word with your wife. She threatened to tow my car, so I moved it. Recheck your facts and then proceed however you like. Lawyer up if you like, but be sure you're ready to defend your accusations because it won't come cheap.
As for your coward statement... really?
I wish no further contact from you for any reason. You can contact me through legal channels if you deem it necessary.

I don't know why these owners insist on contacting me even after I explicitly forbid it. They've called me from two different phone numbers and sent me 4 long text messages and several Yelp messages as they continue their abuse and threats. All my claims are easily evidenced with phone and email records. I hope they cease before I'm forced to take legal recourse to protect myself and my family. I have no interest in anything else they have to say and I don't need their prayers. I was happy to leave Made in the Shade once they refused to tint my windows and I thanked Leslie at that point because I knew that her refusal to accept the Groupon would result in an immediate refund from Groupon... which I've already received. So I was not upset and I left with a smile on my face. As I was leaving, this small, timid, and frightened woman followed me out of her shop and continued to yell at me and threaten to tow my car. Funny how different our two recollections of the same incident are. Oh well, water under the bridge. Now let's get on with our lives folks.
Obviously Made in the Shade has been in business a long time and have many, many satisfied customers. Otherwise, it's unlikely they would have survived. They should celebrate the good reviews and recognized the bad reviews as opportunities to improve.
Again, I stand behind my review and wish that I was treated with more respect. If I had simply been left to leave without incident, it's unlikely I would have left a review at all. I will not be intimidated into removing my review because I like Yelp and I believe to do so would compromise the integrity and value of Yelp services.
