  • I am a School Psychologist by profession and have met with Janet, the Director, many times to discuss her school and the progress of students that attend her school at parents' request. In the course of working with families, I have observed her classroom for extended periods of time and I am consistently impressed. Why am I impressed? When I walk in the building, I observe individualized attention to student progress, nurturing interactions between teachers and students, students that have internalized procedures that scaffold learning, students that are able to manage extensive collections of manipulatives and learning tools, and students that are concentrating on tasks they find interesting. Janet and her teachers have a passion for cultivating independence in their students while celebrating interdependence. Community Montessori prepares their students to be confident and engaged with their surroundings in a way that is meaningful to themselves and others. This preschool truly gives their students the best start in life. I can't wait until my little one is old enough to attend. Students have to be two years-old and potty-trained to enroll. Currently, my little one is seven months. Hopefully, we can potty-train by two years and get him enrolled without delay. Sometimes I am uncertain that we will be able to potty-train by two, but Janet has already provided me some tips, so we will see!
