I had my Mitsubishi inspected last week at South Park Mitsubishi. I was told that the brakes "just" passed inspection and that I should think about getting them replaced. I was shocked when they quoted me $800. I asked how brakes could cost so much and they explained I would need rotors too. I asked why I would need new rotors if my brakes passed inspection They explained that it is pretty standard. I asked about cutting the rotors and they said that rotors are too thin to cut nowadays. I chose not to have new brakes installed because I wanted to shop around. I went to a small local garage where they checked my brakes. They told me my brakes were fine and had a lot of wear left...they were both greater than 5 and that my rotors are fine. My car is 3 years old with less than 23000 miles on it...they mentioned at my current mileage average I should be good for quite awhile, but check them again in 6 months. Completely surprised and disappointed to have South Park Mitsubishi attempt to cheat me...basically steal from me. Do not purchase anything from these people...will never go back.
