  • Staying at the PH for one night was a refresher in economics 101 (supply & demand). PH's marketing / PR dept must be geniuses because they have created a demand (and high prices) for something that should warrant no such demand. 1) check in is horrific (I am talking an hour plus wait in line), the lady who helped me said this is typical. I am convinced they are doing this on purpose to instill in guests and passers by that PH is THE place to be. They have an online "express check in", which I am glad I did because I got to skip the massive line and go straight to the much shorter "key pick up line". But then we still had to do all the usual check in tasks so I am not sure what the point of the online express check in is? 2) the casino and hotel lobby may be sleek and updated, but the minute you step into the hotel elevator you will notice heavy wear and tear. The elevator doors were banged up and dingy. The hallways have marks all over the walls and look completely worn. 3) the rooms are old Aladdin rooms with some added ugly wallpaper, paint and banged up furniture. Our room felt like a cave. It's only redeeming quality was the view of Paris and the Bellagio fountains (the window was really small though). The bed was obviously well used and uncomfortable. 4) we could hear EVERY. SINGLE. FLIGHT. going over us all night long (maybe our small window wasn't very sound proofed? Or maybe they didn't build the Aladdin to block out outside noise?).i have never experienced this level of sound at any other strip hotels 5) parking is literally a mile away ( you have to walk the length of the mall to get to it) The most annoying part about our stay at the Aladdin, I mean Planet Hollywood, was knowing that people were paying in the upper $200s for this nastiness. You are paying MGM Grand prices for Monte Carlo / Bally's quality. As long as people are paying these ridiculous prices for such poor quality, PH will continue to charge them. Wake up people, just because PH has a hip casino and trendy restaurants and a never ending hotel check in line, it doesn't mean you should settle for a room that makes you feel dirty waking up in. Lipstick on a pig is all it is.
