Some notes of caution to prospective renters: While the prices in Mozart buildings seem reasonable and the apartments are fairly nice, this company's practices border on illegal:
--- Once they know you aren't renewing your lease, tours of your apartment start immediately and can occur at pretty much all hours and on all days (yes, even weekend mornings). Several of these tours occurred without any notice so you can imagine how awkward and downright terrifying that was... If you refuse them entry, they can charge you a massive fee.
-- Their leases end on the 29th of a 31-day month. But your rent is not pro-rated and the new tenant moves in on the 29th. SO, they essentially double rent the apartments. When I politely raised this with Jim, he got very defensive and claimed the rent was not prorated because "they didn't charge me extra for other 31-day months". Seriously. He didn't understand the logic that my lease said 1-year and a year is 365 (sometimes 366) days.
I was under a time crunch when I signed this lease. In hindsight, I would not do it again. Please don't make my mistake. Read their absurdly long and laborious lease VERY CAREFULLY and look elsewhere before you sign. There are plenty of other nice, reasonably priced apartments in Pittsburgh that won't make you give up your privacy or cheat you out of several days. Feel free to message me if you'd like other suggestions.
