| - I was at the UPS store on Camden, in desperate need of caffeine. Imagine my surprise when I look around and spot a coffee shop right across the street, in The Courtyard off Worthington!
The atmosphere is very no-frills. I'm not sure how much of the space belongs solely to the coffee shop, or how much is space for The Courtyard, but it's an open layout with a few seats/tables; there is also bar seating. A little too minimalistic for my preference in a coffee shop, but no big deal.
Whatever I thought they may lack in decor, they more than make up for in friendliness. The barista was super nice, and very patient with me as I studied the menu for way too long before ordering a plain ol' cup of joe. I believe he may actually be the owner, based on 10 seconds of researching their website. He gave me a brief history of the business and was genuinely a nice, relatable person. (I've found some local coffee shops teeter on the edge of pretension, so it was a breath of fresh air to chat with someone down-to-earth).
The menu was every bit as no-frills as the space, but that's a good thing. I am the type who needs to drink a cup of coffee, just to be mentally alert enough to understand the menu at certain places. To be clear, there's nothing wrong with a wide variety but there's also nothing wrong with keeping it simple, and that's exactly what All Nations Coffee does. I ordered a French press, and it was delicious; very light and smooth.
If you're in the area, and in need of some quick caffeine, definitely give this place a try.
