We stay at Hilton hotels all across the country, all year long. The Embassy brand has been pretty good overall. But this one was well worn (as most Vegas hotels are) and located in a sketchy part of town, not far from the Strip. Our vehicle was burglarized, the burglars spent a lot of time in the vehicle, and they took a lot of stuff, including a bike and luggage. There are no cameras on site. The "security" was on duty but failed to notice the activity. Hotel managers were unimpressed and offered me a bottle of water. Metro PD responded in a timely fashion. Moral of the story: leave nothing in your vehicle and park as close to the front door as possible, and don't count on security for much.
