Pride. That's the word that comes to mind when I think about Ricky, the restaurant manager and his staff. I could feel their pride in AZYUN from the moment I walked in the door. There is a wall of happy guest photos artistically placed to the left of the entrance. Ricky was there to offer every one of us a drink with or without Prosecco to toast the yelp elite event (my first).
There were five Asian inspired menu items to sample:
- seared tuna rice toast (seconds please and thank you!)
- pork jowl skewer (melt in your mouth but try not to think about the fat content)
- prawn toast (the name doesn't do it justice)
- fried chicken mantou sandwich (OMG...with a spicy kick to die for)
- truffle fried rice (with a quail egg to make it totally unique)
Each dish was paired with a craft beer from Muskoka Brewery including Mad Tom and Summerweiss Tropical Wheat (taste that mango and passion fruit). The dishes were all beautiful to look at and delicious. My favourite was the spicy fried chicken mantou sandwich.
The decor was clean and modern. There's an outdoor patio and more parking in the area than I expected.
I'll be back.
