| - The Charlotte Regional Farmers Market is a gem. If you support local farmers, this is the place to go on Saturday morning. Be aware of the local growing season, and you'll know what to buy. Yes, there are vendors year 'round, and several of them stock an amazing array of exotic fruits and vegetables at incredibly cheap prices, but they don't source locally.
Look for local farmers, talk to them, and you will soon have contacts for local chicken, beef, lamb, pork, as well as an outstanding selection of fruits, vegetables, cheeses, soaps, jellies and pies. And don't forget the plants - herbs, tomatoes, ornamentals galore. In another year or two, this place will be 5 star. I'm waiting for someone to start offering homemade starters and mains!
