  • A Few weeks ago I was out truck shopping at AAD. My experience was a learning experience for sure. First off as I arrived on the lot i was greeted in a very mature and professional manner. After the keys were given to me to start up the truck, I was treated better than any other used car lot in the valley. Although the truck I was looking at had many cosmetic issues, Mechanically it was pretty sound minus the Temperature blend actuator and service Airbag warning was illuminated. Shad was my salesman and he was a very respectful person. We talked about all of the things wrong with the vehicle and the salesman agreed that #1 the vehicle WAS indeed in bad shape and #2 they would be able to alter the price a bit to accommodate for the damages and the neglect of the vehicles care. After consulting with my mechanic and getting parts prices, the repairs added up to be about $3,500 with $600 labor included. I submitted my offer of $18,000 even, the asking price for the truck was $17,999, after tax title license and fees the Out the Door price was $20,400. I believed my price was fair judging on the amount of money I would have to spend on fixing the vehicle. Unfortunately over text message the dealers response to my offer was "We are way off, tax season is coming up and the boss believes we will sell it for full asking price". The dealer at the time didn't even try to explain why, just that they wanted to get the full asking price. The experience made me feel very put off and made me feel like smoke was blown up my backside all day while I was at the Dealership. I really would have at least an explanation as to why they wouldn't be able to accept my offer, or give me at least a number from their end besides 'full asking price' as stated in the text message. It kinda showed me a little bit of Greed on their end as well as dishonesty. Whether intentional or unintentional that is how it came off. Other than that I do think they are great guys, I AM super bummed they wouldn't work for me to get that vehicle but I have purchased the same truck with less miles and more options from a private sale. I would recommend this place before sending ANYONE to Trucks Only or Sullivan Motor Company or any Big Box used car dealership in Mesa.
