This review is specifically for Linda in the home warranty department as well as her manager, Alex Horwood the customer service manager.
When the new home was built in the lot next to our home, the landscapers damaged the water line which resulted in a leak and a very high water bill.
Linda was very slow to respond to our requests for reimbursement. I had to follow up with her on a few occasions. When the request was approved she stated that it would be mailed out by the end of the following week. Two days later I reached out to her to request that the check be mailed to our home versus the rental property where the leak occurred. Linda responded that the check had already been mailed. I was confused at how the timeline advanced from the check being mailed out by "the end of next week" to it being mailed within two days. Despite this, I accepted her answer. I knew that I had a mail forwarding in place and I would receive the check.
I allowed a week to pass and I began to follow up.
I attempted to call Linda and I also left a number of messages. I never received a call back from Linda.
In my continued follow up on the payment I interacted with Alex Horwood who did not display a level of professionalism in my opinion. At one point in our conversation as I tactfully challenged his responses, I perceived that he raised his voice and simply stated, "there is nothing I can do for you". This is not the type of response you would expect from a Customer Service Manager being that the word Customer Service is in his job title.
We ended up finally getting the reimbursement. When I received the check, the envelope was postmarked two days after I had that tense interaction with Alex Horwood.
I was not pleased with the way this whole situation was handled, the time it took to get resolved, and the discourteous interaction with the Alex Horwood.
