This was the WORST hotel experience I've ever had. I booked my hotel through Expedia.com which I've done numerous times in the past. I called one month prior to my visit to inform them I have a service dog & if they had any special rules, I'd be more than happy to get everything in order -- the woman I spoke to said there wasn't anything I would need to provide because Comfort Inn is animal friendly. When I arrived, I had nothing but issues. The woman at the front desk who was checking me in said I was going to be charged a $25/day fee for my dog & that she shouldn't even accept him because he looks bigger than 40lbs -- he's actually 33lbs. Also, even though he is a service dog I still have to pay the fee since he doesn't have a vest (those ARE NOT required whatsoever) and he "doesn't look like a service dog." She said I had to provide paperwork stating he is a service dog -- I showed her the actual website stating there is no such paperwork & a photo of Joey's certification but since it wasn't the original diploma, she couldn't use it. Then I explained I have PTSD from prior military service, showed her my disability paperwork and explained my dog helps me with medication I take. The woman said to me "I CAN'T DO THIS. SORRY. YOU DON'T LOOK DISABLED. YOU AREN'T EVEN IN A WHEELCHAIR OR ANYTHING." I was so disgusted by her ignorant comment that I just shook my head and walked away. When I checked my bank statement, I was charged $25 two times, $150 once and $137.50. I'm not a mathematician by any stretch but that was way more than what 6 days at $25 should have ended up costing. My room was dirty and I needed a new set of sheets -- the front desk didn't have any and told me to check back the next day. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT ME TO SLEEP ON/WITH? I ended up going to Target and buying a set of sheets and a blanket to use since they were no help. My shower had footprints in it and the toilet was nasty too. Fortunately I had seen this prior to my Target trip because I wound up purchasing cleaning supplies too. Each day was worse than the one before. Breakfast was always cold, the bread products were hard as rocks and stale, dairy products were on the verge of expiration too. I DO NOT recommend anyone stays here! I'm actually waiting a response from the VA in regards to legal steps I can take about the front desk associate's comments towards me and my disability.
