Saw this place on TV three weeks ago and bookmarked it. I was so impressed by the people that are working and helping for this sanctuary.
Finally I got a chance to visit. The drive wasn't too bad. I would say 30 minutes from the strip.
This guy, Tom was super nice at the admission counter. He explained us about the animals and birds there and told us not to miss "The parrots' room".
I enjoyed everything but I enjoyed this parrots' room the most. Good thing Tom told about this room, because you could easily miss it. I saw parrots saying funny words (a dirty word, too!). It was funny.
This 8 and a half acre sanctuary was totally worth visiting. If you have absolutely nothing to do, visit this place!! $4 non profit fee to get in but they could use a lot of donations. They feed the animals a ton of food everyday. Great for kids.
No hand feeding animals anymore due to FDA.
In the summer time, don't forget your hats and sunglasses!!
