The free 7 day Mexican resort really does exist and it is beautiful. Its a members only time share scheme resort but it is not too shabby for a free 7 day stay. Although food is not included and you have to pay $75 resort fee for 7 days its still worth it, imo.
I just hate how sears vacations lies to get you come in for the sales pitch. All the free resorts they have available are in the south/ and weird suburban places you probably wouldnt wanna go to. Unless you go to Mexico- even where the resort isnt quite in cancun but 30 mins out. Other options they give you is a lesser luxurious jamaican resort, again without food. We went for the mexican one and it was okay slash not too bad. It was too big n rooms had no view and about a mile away from the pool n beach but the grounds were new n luxurious etc.
About the sales pitch. Sears vacations wants you to put down 3-5k$ in advance for about 2-4 vacations all at time share properties and mostly in south america. Not suitable for my needs. They will try to empathize with you over all the atrocities the big name online travel agencies are committing against you and how sears just wants to rescue poor you. If you are okay with going to unknown members only timeshare resorts full of old ppl in suburban areas outside of downtowns then go for it. You'll def save at least 20% over say, expedia. But is the bargain worth giving up being in a popular resort and city center? You decide what you like!
