| - When I first got engaged, I was so excited to plan a wedding...and then I was terrified! The Grove not only helped us with a last minute change of location, but also took all the guess work and stress out of planning.
I'd never been to very many weddings before. I was five at the only one I attended, so I had no idea how a ceremony really went. Luckily, they went over everything we needed to know and helped organize everything perfectly. Buddy, the officiant, went over what was going to be said and how we would incorporate our vows. They helped get the rings to the right people and sent messages between the bride's party and groom's party.
Zina was an absolute ANGEL! In the face of all the nerves and jitters, Zina was very calm, articulate, and funny. She helped get us all in line and made sure my dress and hair were in place before walking out. Everyone was very calm and very kind. No confusion or chaos. The Grove helped bring a lot of structure to what was originally going to be us just standing by the ocean saying some words. It felt more traditional and planned out.
The Grove is a wonderful little green oasis that makes you forget you're in a desert. It's located right next to Floyd Lamb Park, which is another little green oasis. They have several spots to chose from at the venue. We chose the one with the large trees arching over the arbor.
Given how small our wedding was, we didn't take advantage of the florist or baker they have available. They have plenty of packages that tie everything up very nicely. Catering, bakery, florist, photographer. They have packages that include them all. I personally thought all of their packages were *little* pricy though. We spent about $700 for a thirty minute ceremony, not including the additional we will be spending for the extra stuff we'll need from the photographer. But, that does include two options of transportation, which is great! Our small wedding party fits in a strange realm where some things are cost effective because we are small and not cost effective because we are small.
Overall, I was incredibly happy with our choice of venue and Zina's wonderful work with us. If you're looking for a more no hassle venue that will save you the legwork of having to go out and find all these different things(florist, baker, photographer, caterer), this is the place to go. It's the perfect little green escape from all the sagebrush and dirt and glitzy cheese Vegas has to offer. It's much more subdued and traditional, if you're not into the whole got-married-by-Elvis appeal some enjoy about Vegas.
