| - I was in the Tempe ikea on 8/13/2016. I purchased a decent number of items and paid for the pull and delivery service. I was promised same day delivery with a time frame of 5-9pm. Well, that time slot came and went, no delivery, no call. So, this morning I call and after waiting for an hour on hold, was put in contact with someone in the delivery scheduling area. He explained that even though I was supposed to be same day, it was too late by the time the product was pulled and ready. He then told me that I would get 5-9pm time frame for today and that he would call once it was loaded and they would refund my delivery charge. I called the customer service line again at 5:30pm, after not receiving a "hey it's loaded "call and waited for another hour, yay! This service person was very helpful and let me know that I was going to get delivery tonight, yay! With a delivery window of 6-9, on another order number, with no notes of delivery charge refund. Currently 7pm, no call from delivery company. Let's see when/if I get my stuff, yay!
Btw, the "yay" is totally sarcastic and in no way an accurate representation of my actual feelings....Yay!!
Welp, it's after 9pm. No call, no delivery! I must say, if I wanted to throw out a bunch of money and have nothing to show for it, I could have just gone back to college! But the "freshman 15" at my age translates into a heart attack and impotence. I'm not keen on either. So, I guess this was a good investment?! Nope, still a bad experience with a company that should have better practices.
8:04 am, I've been on hold for an hour and 45 mins. I'm trying to get a refund for my entire order. Was told by the lady in service that she can't guarantee a cancellation of the total because the $40 pick fee is non-refundable. I asked why Ikea should be able to keep the pick fee if they can't honor two delivery appointments. She statred stammering through her script, so I asked to speak to her supervisor without being put on hold for an hour. It's okay, I didn't need to do anything this morning! Besides, I am starting to like the idea of not having any furniture! So much space for stuff like cartwheels, hand stands, polka dancing and spinning around in circles until I vomit!! Yay!
8:25am I was just told that I will get a full refund including the pick fee, yippy! Of coarse, that was after being told that Ikea doesn't offer pick service and same day delivery. I pointed out that those are clearly listed on my invoice and, after verifying with the local store, the nice (sincerely) lady in service told me that due to their error, I will be refunded. All in all, not my idea of a great weekend but at least I got to work on my patience and it beats a bb to the eye,(don't ask)! I am a Zen Ninja at this point. Bring on the next test yo!
